Welcome to the "Original" Dynasty Rankings Fantasy Football Blog

This blog was born out of a Dynasty Rankings thread originally begun in October, 2006 at the Footballguys.com message boards. The rankings in that thread and the ensuing wall-to-wall discussion of player values and dynasty league strategy took on a life of its own at over 275 pages and 700,000 page views. The result is what you see in the sidebar under "Updated Positional Rankings": a comprehensive ranking of dynasty league fantasy football players by position on a tiered, weighted scale. In the tradition of the original footballguys.com Dynasty Rankings thread, intelligent debate is welcome and encouraged.

Are you SURE you want to put Tony Romo at number two on the QB list? Have you seen him play the last few weeks?

Now if he breaks up with Jessica Simpson, I might agree with you...

No, I'm far from sure, but I don't know who the #2 should be if not Romo. Manning? No thanks. I'm not confident enough in the Colts. Favre? They have to win in Dallas, which I don't think is likely. Anything can happen, of course, especially in the NFC, but if I had to wager, it'd be Romo at #2.

I'm sure you were less than serious about Jessica Simpson, and I'm even more sure that she's not a factor whatsoever. The thumb, on the other hand...and the T.O. injury, those are concerns.

I would go with Favre at #2. The Packers pass-happy offense will be better off having to play in Dallas than they would have been in Green Bay. With the Cowboys late season swoon, the Packers have a legitimate shot at the NFC title.

I think quite a few teams have a legit shot at the NFC title. The Redskins are playing better than any of them right now.

It's probably a toss-up between Romo and Favre (and the Packers & Cowboys) right now.
