Welcome to the "Original" Dynasty Rankings Fantasy Football Blog

This blog was born out of a Dynasty Rankings thread originally begun in October, 2006 at the Footballguys.com message boards. The rankings in that thread and the ensuing wall-to-wall discussion of player values and dynasty league strategy took on a life of its own at over 275 pages and 700,000 page views. The result is what you see in the sidebar under "Updated Positional Rankings": a comprehensive ranking of dynasty league fantasy football players by position on a tiered, weighted scale. In the tradition of the original footballguys.com Dynasty Rankings thread, intelligent debate is welcome and encouraged.

Preseason Week 1 | Can't Miss Play: Chris Johnson 66-Yard TD Run

I had the Rotoworld news shift tonight, so you know I'm giving prime billing to Chris Johnson's performance:

Rookie Chris Johnson had 77 yards on six carries and a TD and one catch for 13 yards as Tennessee thumped the Rams in their preseason opener 34-13.
Johnson, a Rotoworld favorite, found a crease and showed his ridiculous speed by simply outrunning the Rams defense on a 66-yard homerun. Johnson has been the star of Titans camp and is the real deal as a playmaker. Target him with confidence in PPR re-draft leagues and all Dynasty leagues. On second thought, just target the ultra-talented playmaker in all leagues.
I've been down on LenDale White for quite some time, so you BakeSale true believers can get on me for a being a little harsh:
LenDale White had 33 yards on six carries in the Titans exhibition opener.
White looked good early before giving way to Chris Johnson. He may get steady carries this season, but White is not going to catch many passes and will lose touches to the freakishly talented rookie. There's not much to get excited about outside of TD-heavy scoring leagues.
More importantly, check out the NFL.com video highlight of Johnson's 66-yard homerun through the Rams defense. If he gets a crease, he's taking it to the house. It's definitely worth the click.
