Chad Pennington - Completed his first three passes to tight ends. Personal high and franchise record 17 straight completions going back to last week. The wind picked up late in the first quarter and became a major factor in the passing game. Bought some time and was able to find Joey Haynos wide open for a touchdown.
Ronnie Brown - Horrible drop on a screen pass that would have been a big gainer. Two big runs 16 & 18 yards on a fourth quarter drive.
Ricky Williams
Davone Bess - Slow first half for the wide receivers, but Bess came out strong to start the second half.
Ted Ginn
Anthony Fasano
David Martin - A fantastic leaping catch, ripping it away from the defender and taking it the distance for a 61-yard opening-drive touchdown.
Shaun Hill - Underrated as an athlete, impressive roll out play. Started 6-of-6 for 59 yards with a lot of a underneath routes. Winds of 18-20 mph affected the deep game. A 16-play drive at the end of the first half ended in a punt. Big advantage in time of possession, but several long drives ending without a score.
DeShaun Foster - Heavily involved in the offense early as the 49ers persist in trying to establish the run.
Isaac Bruce - Hauled in a wobbly 20-yard pass for the longest Niners pass play of the day. Shaun's Hill go-to receiver in key situations all game. Up to 993 career receptions, fifth most of all time.
Bryant Johnson
Jason Hill
Vernon Davis - Got into a pre-game shouting match with Joey Porter, as predicted. Porter told him he wasn't even in their scouting report on the Niners offense. High-hurdle 17-yard gainer. Wide open, dropped a possible 15-yarder. They really have to get him more involved in the offense. He's noticeably faster than any of the wide receivers and can make plays after the catch. Showed his speed on a first-down run.
Miami DB Nathan Jones has two sacks on the day. Joey Porter beats Barry Simms on 4th & 10 in the red zone for his 17 & 1/2th sack of the season. That's going to end the game.
