Brian Griese, not Josh McCown, is starting for Jeff Garcia. That doesn't say much for Gruden's confidence in McCown.
Matt Ryan - Missed a touchdown by inches to Jerious Norwood. Ronde Barber said that within three years, Ryan will set the standard for quarterback play in the NFL. Picked on a deep lob to Roddy White. Picked again, this one a floater on the run trying to get the ball to Roddy White. Lost a touchdown on a 25-yard touchdown when it was ruled that tight end Jason Rader fumbled just before he crossed the goal-line.
Michael Turner - Center of a ball control offense in the first quarter, with 43 yards and a goal-line plunge on 10 carries. Looked smooth on two receptions as the checkdown option. Steady dose of carries, easy to get into a groove even against a tough defense.
Roddy White - White went up to make a leaping 30-yard reception, but he appeared to land wrong on his ankle. He was jogging on the sidelines and looks probable to return.
Jerious Norwood - Took a swing pass 10 yards and was flipped up in the air, landing just short of the goal-line. Got a 17-yard gainer on a nifty play action pitch fake from Ryan.
Harry Douglas - Brian Finneran takes over punt-return duties. Is Douglas injured? Back on punt returns to start the second half. Wildcat reverse for 11 yards.
Michael Jenkins - Leading Falcons with 55 yards in the first half.
Brian Griese - Showing a sidearm slingshot motion with little zip on the ball. Gruden better get Luke McCown in there if he wants to score points today. Hit Antonio Bryant in stride for a nice 20-yard touchdown to close out the first half.
Warrick Dunn - Used as a typical third-down back on some drives, with Cadillac Williams taking over early down duties.
Antonio Bryant - Having a hell of a game reeling in Brian Griese's weak-winged heaves, he had a nice over-the-shoulder 30-yard grab reversed on review, but bounced back with a 20-yard touchdown a couple of plays later. Very strong, physical and catches the ball well with his hands.
Jerramy Stevens
Cadillac Williams
Bucs hurt by a slew of penalties early in the game. Abraham gets his 3rd sack of the game on the Bucs first drive of overtime to force a punt.
