Welcome to the "Original" Dynasty Rankings Fantasy Football Blog

This blog was born out of a Dynasty Rankings thread originally begun in October, 2006 at the Footballguys.com message boards. The rankings in that thread and the ensuing wall-to-wall discussion of player values and dynasty league strategy took on a life of its own at over 275 pages and 700,000 page views. The result is what you see in the sidebar under "Updated Positional Rankings": a comprehensive ranking of dynasty league fantasy football players by position on a tiered, weighted scale. In the tradition of the original footballguys.com Dynasty Rankings thread, intelligent debate is welcome and encouraged.

Rotoworld's Minicamp Matters

Rotoworld's Evan Silva has an interesting column up on seven relevant Minicamp Matters. Below are the highlights, but you can click the link for the full article.

1. Broncos RB pecking order with Travis Henry sidelined.

Will Travis Henry even survive the summer?
Will Selvin Young take over the nominal starter's role?
Rookie Ryan Torain is healthy and looking to take advantage of Henry's absence.
What is newcomer Michael Pittman's role?

2. Seahawks wide receiver clutter.
Bobby Engram and Nate Burleson are the only name players in the group.
Who emerges from the group of Ben Obomanu, Courtney Taylor, Logan Payne, and Jordan Kent?

3. The Ronnie vs. Ricky split.
The Parcells/Sparano connection has a history with RBBC.
Ronnie likely to be given less than a full load coming off his ACL injury and Ricky's return to health.
Toledo RB Jalen Parmele is an intriguing dynasty sleeper.

4. Reggie Williams rising.
Williams' 2007 TD total was fluky, but he's now lining up with the first team opposite Jerry Porter.
Will Reggie have a set role going into the 2008 season?

5. Does it matter that Cedric Benson has slimmed down?
Benson is said to be 10 pounds lighter, but is that typical offseason fluff?
Lovie has stated that Benson is still the team's starting RB, but is he simply trying to rebuild Ced's confidence?
The Forte vs. Benson won't play out until August, so we're still in the thick of the speculation phase.

6. Brandon Marshall's due date.
Marshall is recovering ahead of schedule and is expected to take part in late June receiving drills.
Monitor injury reports to make sure Marshall doesn't have any hangover problems with his hands/arm.

7. Ravens receiver shakedown.
Demetrius Williams may be the Ravens' most intriguing, yet inconsistent WR.
Mark Clayton is healthy now and remains the starter opposite Derrick Mason.
Offensive coordinator Cam Cameron wants to use a lot of three-receiver sets this season.
Fourth round pick Marcus Smith could be an interesting dynasty sleeper if he performs well early on.
