Welcome to the "Original" Dynasty Rankings Fantasy Football Blog

This blog was born out of a Dynasty Rankings thread originally begun in October, 2006 at the Footballguys.com message boards. The rankings in that thread and the ensuing wall-to-wall discussion of player values and dynasty league strategy took on a life of its own at over 275 pages and 700,000 page views. The result is what you see in the sidebar under "Updated Positional Rankings": a comprehensive ranking of dynasty league fantasy football players by position on a tiered, weighted scale. In the tradition of the original footballguys.com Dynasty Rankings thread, intelligent debate is welcome and encouraged.

Chris,
Forget Culpepper. He's been black-balled.

If somebody needs Ryan Fitzpatrick, they forgot to draft a QB this season, or they rode the Carson Palmer "express" just a little too long.

I've got Michael Bush in my keeper league, but it's hard to start him over Gore/Jonathon Stewart, especially considering Oakland's muddled front office combined with their RB injuries.

What the heck is the deal with Lance Moore? To paraphrase the old Buddy Ryan line, "all he does is catch passes". Yes, he's small. So was Derrick Mason in his prime. Why isn't this guy a full time starter? Sure, the Saints have a stable of good receivers. But Moore is better than any of them.

Speaking of the Saints, I've got Meachem too. He's on my taxi squad, and there he'll stay. It's hard to justify him when my other receivers are Steve Smith(CAR), Housh, Chris Chambers, Vincent Jackson, Kevin Walter, AND Lance Moore (yes, it's a 45 player roster).

Dustin Keller is another taxi squad fodder for me, but he may be coming out if Randy McMichael's injury is serious. Even then, Keller would only see action for me during Tony Scheffler's bye week.

I think I agree with all of that.
