Welcome to the "Original" Dynasty Rankings Fantasy Football Blog

This blog was born out of a Dynasty Rankings thread originally begun in October, 2006 at the Footballguys.com message boards. The rankings in that thread and the ensuing wall-to-wall discussion of player values and dynasty league strategy took on a life of its own at over 275 pages and 700,000 page views. The result is what you see in the sidebar under "Updated Positional Rankings": a comprehensive ranking of dynasty league fantasy football players by position on a tiered, weighted scale. In the tradition of the original footballguys.com Dynasty Rankings thread, intelligent debate is welcome and encouraged.

What are the "?"'s by the players names? Is it that you are not sure that their value is increasing beyond it's current value? It's odd that those would be beside Greg Jennings and Eddie Royal.

I know their value is rising, but I'm unsure if I want to add them to the Rotoworld article because they're too obvious. In Jennings case, I had him as the #1 guy last week . . . so do I want to repeat the obvious for 2 straight weeks?

I'm going to try to cap it at about 5 per position, so does Eddie Royal make more sense than some of the other WR candidates?

Better add Flacco to the list. He looks pretty good for a rookie on the road against Pittsburgh.

I wouldn't put Eddie Royal on the list. As long as Marshall and Scheffler are healthy and/or not suspended, Royal's oppurtunities are limited.

That said, Royal does look like a nice long term prospect. He'll have his up and down weeks, but if you're willing to ride them out with him on your bench, he's not a bad player to stash.

As for Greg Jennings, if Aaron Rodgers is hurt, Jennings value plummets.

One other thing: How about some love for PK Matt Prater? I grabbed him off the waiver wire last week, and he nailed 4/5 FG's, with two 50+ yarders. SCORE! :)

I like Prater's leg and offense, but he's still too inconsistent on easy kicks. Is he clearly out of the woods?

Chris,
On Denver's offense, Prater will get the oppurtunities, which is half the battle for kickers.
